To love and embrace yourself is to experience freedom – freedom from doubt, self-hate, and oppression created by you.

The conflicts and divisiveness that you may see in this world are rooted in each our personal insecurities. It this is all based upon our self-esteem, which is our sense of worth and value in this world. Our sense of worth and value then revolves around those parts of us that we see as faults, weaknesses, and imperfections and what we believe we need to do to overcome them.

Most of us strive to overcome our faults, weaknesses and imperfections by working hard to boost our physical appearance, our social economic status or level of achievements. This is a self-esteem based upon external feedback of others. The thing is you will never be able to rest easily and trust external feedback of others to support you. You will never be able to trust external feedback not to criticize and attack you. So, you will inevitably be braced to view more and more people as potential threats to your livelihood. This means our current way of modern life is setup to have each of us view each other as threats. And this is why a self-esteem based upon external feedback will ultimately create divisiveness, and conflicts.

The resolutions to conflicts and divisiveness in our world is not about modern technology, civilization, or any political stance. The resolution to all this is about returning to the basics. It’s about resetting our self-esteem to be acceptance of our authentic self. This means accepting ourselves just as we are. This includes accepting our faults, weaknesses and imperfections.  And not just accepting ourselves but more actually loving ourselves just as we are. To the extent you can love your plain, ordinary, vulnerable and authentic self you make your worth and value impervious to the whims and opinions of others. And when your self-esteem is impervious to external feedback your life is at peace and ease with yourself, but more importantly with others, because you also cease to view others as potential threats. Can you love yourself just as you are?
